Welcome to our website complete with a fresh new look. We had been getting a few comments lately about "the original condition" it was in, clearly 'if it's not broke don't fix it' doesn't apply to websites!
Since FSPNZ was started in October 2000 there have been a number of changes in New Zealand's financial services sector. Government legislation aimed at 'reining in' Financial Planners has also affected Finance Brokers as the government has attempted to regulate the wider industry. In order to meet the new requirements I have completed a number of courses, the end result being a Level 5 Certificate in Financial Services.
Over the last few years I have been the Christchurch based EAP (Employee Assistance Programmes) Financial Advisor. This role sees me meeting with staff members in larger organisations to advise them on budgeting, kiwi saver, retirement and EQC issues. I have also been writing a new Money Management course that we have been presenting to a group of staff at their work place.
As well as being a Christchurch based Business Mentor, a couple of years ago I was appointed a Pacific Island Business Mentor. Every six months I visit Papua New Guinea along with four other business mentors from Christchurch.
During a recent trip we visited a Crocodile farm. Below you can see a photo of me holding a 1 year old Croc, a basket of Croc eggs and a pen of 3 year olds.
Lastly I have just been accepted as a "Sorted" Facilitator by the Retirement Commission. After attending a training session in Auckland I will be running seminars and training sessions for community groups, work places and other interested parties. If you attend a Sorted seminar in the near future it may just be me standing in front of you.
